Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park is Uganda’s popular gorilla trekking safari destination. The park is found in south-western Uganda in Kanungu district. The park harbors half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. The park is also covered with thick impenetrable tropical forests which harbor several other wild animals such as forest elephants, black and white colobus monkeys, and L’Hoest monkeys, among others.
On the other hand, Lake Bunyonyi is the most attractive and deepest lava lake in Uganda. It is also located in the south-western region of the country in Kabale district. The lake is surrounded by striking landscapes, terraced hills and attractive islands that can be explored on a safari canoe ride. Furthermore, Lake Bunyonyi harbors over 200 bird species which makes it a popular birding destination for the birdwatchers.

4 Days Bwindi Gorilla and Cultural safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Early in the morning, you will wake up and check out of your hotel either in Kampala or Entebbe depending on where you spent the night. Our tour/driver director will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Bwindi. You will have a stopover at the equator monument in Kayabwe o enjoy photography and have breakfast. Continue with your journey to Bwindi. Have another stopover at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara for lunch and then proceed. Although it will be a long journey, the dazzling sights of several landscapes, vegetation and farms among others on the countryside will make it feel shorter. You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, check in to your lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Wake early in the morning and have breakfast on this 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla and Cultural safari. From there, you will transferred to the gorilla trekking headquarters for briefing. During the briefing, expect to be given details about the mountain gorillas, where to find them and what to expect while trekking. Thereafter, your assigned game ranger will guide you through the thickets of Bwindi to trek the mountain gorillas. Take time to enjoy the unique and rare plant species, insects and birds as you juggle through the thick forests while you trek for the enormous apes. After finally coming in contact with the gorillas, you will be allowed an hour to spend time with them. Take time to observe how gently and quietly these apes behave. Expect them moving around, feeding, playing and feeding their young ones or simply nesting in their natural habitat. After this captivating moment with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the headquarters for certification. You will be transferred back to your lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Batwa Cultural Encounter
Wake up, have morning breakfast and head for a cultural encounter in the Batwa communities. The Batwa were originally the forest dwellers in Bwindi but were evicted when the area was gazetted as a national park. Today, several of them live on the outskirts of the national park in communities. During this cultural visit, you will get to interact with these indigenous group of people and learn about their amazing traditions and lifestyles. Spend time interacting and listening to various stories about their origin and ancestry. More so, expect to enjoy a variety of traditional dances and folk songs. In addition, you will get to learn about the incredible knowledge the Batwa have when it comes to all the forest plants in the Bwindi. You will explore their homesteads and neighborhoods to discover their different ways of survival. After that, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for the rest of the evening. On arrival, check into your lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi – Travel back to Kampala/Entebbe
As you conclude your 4 days Bwindi Gorilla and Cultural Safari, you will have morning breakfast and transfer for a thrilling canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. The canoe ride will take you around the lake as you explore the lake’s 29 islands. More to that, the canoe ride will offer you astounding sights of birds, landscapes and the neighboring villages. Return to your lodge, refresh and check out of your lodge.
Thereafter, embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. You will have lunch en-route and proceed with your journey to Kampala. Upon your arrival, your driver director will take you to your hotel for the night. This concludes your 4 days Bwindi Gorilla and Cultural Safari.
