Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Juba and Transfer to Mundari Villages
Upon landing in Juba, South Sudan’s capital, you will be greeted by our expert guide who will provide an overview of your upcoming adventure. From there, we’ll embark on a journey toward the Mundari villages, traveling through open expanses of untouched land. The vast, semi-arid landscape offers a striking first impression. We’ll arrive at your lodge in the late evening, where you can enjoy dinner and rest after a day of travel.
Day 2: Exploring Mundari Cattle Camps and Villages
Start your day early with a breathtaking sunrise over the South Sudan plains, perfect for photography. Spend the rest of the day engaging with the Mundari community—visit cattle camps, explore the local village of Nykabor, and enjoy lunch within the community. You’ll learn about the Mundari way of life, from their cattle-rearing practices to their cultural traditions, including the local sport of wrestling. The day offers a deep dive into the unique lifestyle and beliefs of the Mundari people.
Day 3: Journey to the Dinka Village via Juba
After breakfast, bid farewell to the Mundari and begin your trip to a Dinka village, passing back through Juba on the way. The scenic four-hour drive will include several opportunities to stop for photographs, allowing you to capture the surrounding beauty. You’ll arrive at the Dinka village in the evening, where you’ll unwind before dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Immersion in Dinka Culture
Today will be dedicated to experiencing the Dinka way of life. Known as some of the tallest people in the world, the Dinka community will introduce you to their customs, including cattle herding, family dynamics, and the role of elders in maintaining order. You’ll also have the opportunity to sample traditional Dinka cuisine. After a day full of discovery, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Return to Juba and City Exploration
After breakfast, we’ll head back to Juba for a city tour. You’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant to sample South Sudanese cuisine, followed by visits to key landmarks such as Konyo Konyo Market, the Presidential Palace, the Garang Mausoleum, and the Jubek Tomb. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing night.
Day 6: Departure
On your final day, enjoy breakfast before your transfer to Juba Airport for your flight home, marking the end of your South Sudan adventure.
