Breakfast With The Giraffes

Breakfast with the giraffes at Nairobi’s iconic Giraffe Manor is one of the most popular safari excursions. This is a remarkable experience for tourists since they get to feed and engage with the lovely giants in their natural habitat.

Breakfast with the Giraffes

Having breakfast with a giraffe has to be one of the most wonderful and one-of-a-kind experiences someone can have. This experience is only available to Giraffe Manor overnight guests and should not be missed. Lopping around the manor grounds and peeking in through the enormous windows with their exquisite necks, meeting the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes at such close quarters offers a genuine idea of how beautiful and soulful these creatures are. Keep an eye out for their curious tongues, which can grow up to twenty inches long as they inspect what’s on offer; happily, they’re after healthy dry grass pellets, not your pancakes!

PLEASE NOTE: Because the giraffes at Giraffe Manor are wild, we cannot guarantee interaction with them at any time.

You will enjoy breakfast in either the Main Manor or the Garden Manor breakfast room, depending on where you are staying, but don’t worry, the giraffes will know precisely where to find you.

Tip: When feeding the giraffe, offer them one pellet at a time. This aids digestion and extends the duration of the pleasure.

Do's and Dont's of Breakfast with the giraffes

These giraffes are eager to meet you, and we’re sure you are as well. We’d like to inform you before your visit that the giraffes at the Manor are wild creatures that can be temperamental. Please follow the TEN DO’S AND DON’TS to assist you and every other visitor get the most out of the amazing giraffe experience.

  1. Dress to impress

DO keep bathrobes, pyjamas, and underwear in the bedroom. Kenya is a conservative country, and visitors are requested to respect it. Wear shoes outside your room because you aren’t on the beach (yet!) and there may be thorns.

  1. Remain Calm

DO avoid making loud noises or quick movements, since they frighten the giraffes. DO NOT cram them – personal space is important to the twiga tower. Please, no drones; the giraffes dislike them, and the giraffe manor wants to preserve a peaceful environment.

  1. Request First

ALWAYS wait for a member of the team to demonstrate what you should do. DO NOT feed the giraffes from the side, since this makes some of our long-legged friends nervous; instead, feed them from the front. DO NOT touch or pet them until you have received permission from the crew.

  1. Perfect Prop

DO ASK before bringing out props for your selfie. We understand that photo opportunities are wonderful, but stuff like balloons, ribbons, or scary-looking lighting and sound equipment are likely to worry and disturb the giraffes.

  1. Drinking:

Giraffes ONLY consume one reward at a time and adhere to the menu; they do not eat anything other than the healthy natural pellets that are supplied. DO NOT feed the giraffes from the dish, much to their dismay; we want to keep them fit and healthy.

  1. Get it Right

DO utilize photographs and videos for personal use ONLY unless prior permission from The Safari Collection marketing team has been granted. Always obtain permission from any other visitors who may appear uninvitedly in your material.

  1. Caring is shared.

DON’T monopolize time with the giraffes and DO allow all guests to engage with them. Everyone is welcome to enjoy and share the teatime sitting. The crew will assign tables for mealtimes to your party and cannot be reserved – no need to rush to breakfast!

  1. Keep things clean.

DO wash your hands before and after feeding the giraffe. It’s only fair that we don’t contaminate these wild species with our viruses from the outside world. Similarly, do not smoke or vape in the presence of giraffes; they do not approve.

Piggy Pumbas

The native warthogs are cunning little creatures that frequently try to steal our giraffe pellets. DO NOT FEED THEM – The giraffe manor attempts to encourage the greedy pals to behave and not charge about at teatime searching for sweets.

  1. Maintain Contact

DON’T wander the grounds without a member of the crew – The giraffe manor in an unfenced animal sanctuary, and while the resident warthog and giraffe families appear to be friendly, they may be unhappy when you’re in their area.
