1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour itinerary

1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour

Your 1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Kigali, the vibrant capital city of Rwanda. We set off early in the morning to make sure you enjoy every second of the experience that lies ahead. Soon after we say goodbye to the busy metropolis of Kigali, you’ll find yourself completely engulfed in Rwanda’s breathtaking natural splendor. Imagine rolling hills and a vast, beautiful landscape that appears to go on forever in the distance. The 2.5-hour trip to Volcanoes National Park is more than just a normal transfer; it’s a fantastic opportunity to take in the always changing landscape and develop a close bond with the breathtaking natural wonders that Rwanda is so proud to display.

Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you’ll head to the park headquarters, where your adventure truly begins. Here, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the park staff who will assist with your registration and provide a comprehensive briefing. This briefing is an essential part of the experience, as it not only informs you about the park’s rules and regulations but also imparts valuable insights into gorilla behavior, conservation efforts, and the specific gorilla family you will be visiting.

Our journey back to the park’s administrative center will include retracing our steps after this fantastic experience. It’s time to say a fond farewell to your skilled guide and the gorillas at this point. There is a delicious treat waiting for you: a mouthwatering lunch at a nearby lodge, sure to satiate your taste buds and give a well-deserved breather. By this point, the journey may have worked up quite an appetite. This meal is not just nourishment but an opportunity to savor the memories of your incredible encounter and exchange stories with your fellow trekkers.

As the day gently transitions into evening, you’ll embark on the journey back to Kigali, offering you one last chance to soak in the breathtaking beauty of Rwanda’s landscapes. The tour reaches its conclusion with a drop-off at your hotel in Kigali, where you can unwind, reflect, and relive the highlights of your unforgettable one-day gorilla trekking adventure – a memory that is sure to remain etched in your heart for a lifetime.

Important Notes:

Rwanda Gorilla trekking permits cost $1500 you will need to obtain the permits in advance, which can be purchased through Laba Africa. However, Rwanda Development Board gives a 30% ($1050) discount on gorilla permits if you are to visit other parks in Rwanda during November and May

– The best time to visit Rwanda is during the dry seasons of December to February and June to September, offering comfortable weather and better accessibility to the gorillas. However, during this season there are high visitor numbers hence you will experience a hike in the prices of amenities and services.

– It’s essential to be physically fit and have suitable trekking gear for the expedition. Pack essentials like water, snacks, hiking shoes, and a rain jacket. A small fee can be paid to porters to help you carry luggage during the trek hence reducing the burden.
