At the start of this 4 Days Congo Tour Virunga Nyiragongo safari, a Laba Africa Expeditions guide will meet you at the Petit Barriere boarder between Rwanda and Congo for briefing. Make Sure you arrive as early as 9:30 am. Your passport will be stamped with a visa. Once this is down, you will be transported to Mikeno lodge that is situated at the Virunga National Park Headquarters. There are activities that you can do today like birding, and guided nature walks around. Feel free to ask at the reception of the lodge about these activities.

Today is a big day! To many, it’s the highlight of their visit in Congo. After breakfast, you will set off for briefing at the park headquarters on the dos and don’ts during your gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking can be a tiresome and can take about 2 to 7 hours of walking in the dense jungle. It is recommended that you’re fit enough before coming for this trek. On the other hand, Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is easier especially in Volcanoes mount Bisoke.
Once you have located the gorilla group, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour observing the gorillas before going back to your lodge. If time allows , you will be able to visit the nearby gorilla orphanage at Senkwekwe.

Conquering one of the most active Volcanoes on the planet is a rewarding feeling you will ever have. You will witness the biggest lava lake when you arrive at the summit. Being on this lava lake on Mt Nyiragongo is one of the highlights of those visiting DR Congo. The hike normally take 5 hours and involves sleeping on the summit in huts.
The hike will be quite challenging at about 2000 meters. With the help of local porters, your luggage will be transported and all you need to do is to focus on the stunning new environment. This is a special adventure that few people have even done.
After your breakfast, hikers will start going down back to kibati ranger post the walk takes about 3 hours and drive back to the Rwanda- Congo boarder. And end of the tour
