4 days Mount Elgon Hike with Sipi falls tour Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
Arrive at the airport/our team will meet you, greet you, and transfer you to the hotel for a relaxed briefing, communication, and itinerary introduction, as well as evening dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls
After breakfast, you will be drive to Sipi falls and have an evening hike on the Sipi falls in Kapchorwa, beginning with the highest waterfall at 100m and if time allows, then sloping down to hike the second waterfall at 85m, and finally hiking the 75m waterfall. This Sipi Falls hike will take approximately 3 hours through the local Bagishu and Sabei coffee farms while viewing Mount Elgon and the wildlife on it before returning to the lodge later in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Hike Mount Elgon on Day 3
On day 3 of the 4 days Mount Elgon Hike with Sipi falls tour, after breakfast, your lodge will provide you with a packed meal to eat while on the hike, and you will be transferred to the starting point where the hike to Mount Elgon begins. You will be briefed about this fascinating hike before choosing a hiking trail that suits you because you are on a shorter safari and will not be able to choose the longest trail. You will then begin the hike through the montane forest and coffee plantations at the foot of the mountain.
Later on, you’ll begin to ascend while spotting a variety of creatures that call Mount Elgon home. Various species of birds will be seen on the hike. It is well known that Mount Elgon is one of the best birding destinations in Uganda, so be sure to spot various bird species along the trail. You will also be able to see the river that flows through Mount Elgon National Park, providing water to various park species as well as irrigation to farmers at the mountain’s base. After finishing your trail, you will descend and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Return to Kampala, or Entebbe
On the fourth and last day of your 4 days Mount Elgon Hike with Sipi falls tour, you will have a leisurely breakfast before departing for Kampala with a stopover in Jinja. When you arrive in Jinja, I’m sure you won’t want to miss a cruise to the Nile River’s source, which is also in Jinja. After visiting the Nile’s source, you will have lunch at a hotel overlooking the Nile before continuing your journey to Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. Upon arrival, you can take a brief city tour before being transferred to your lodge for an overnight stay in Uganda, or to the airport for departures.
