The 5 Days Murchison Falls and Jinja Tour itinerary
Day 1: Arrival In Uganda
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our safari guide will meet you and transport you to Kampala to a hotel that has been reserved for you. If you arrived in Uganda early, you will be taken on a brief tour of the city of Kampala before retiring to your hotel and embarking on the Murchison Falls Tour the next day.
Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
Good morning, the The 5 Days Murchison Falls begins now with an early breakfast and a drive to Murchison Falls National Park through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands. On your way to the park, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is home to endangered rhinos. You will have 2 hours to trek rhinos before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park. You will also stop for relaxation and food in Masindi town. Then proceed to the park.
This whole journey takes about 6-7 hours, with stops at interesting tourist attractions along the way.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo.
On the day 3 of your 5 days Murchison Falls tour, wake up early in the morning, you will be served with early breakfast and also you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Budongo forest for chimpanzee trekking. Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest starts with a briefing at the headquarters about the rules, regulations and expectations of chimpanzee trekking at the headquarters and after the briefing you will start trekking with a park guide who will be sharing information about chimpanzees and also conversant with different trails in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours or even a full day depending on where the chimpanzees are found.
During trekking you will spot other primate species like blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and bird species like grey long bill, African emerald cuckoo, yellow manted weaver, slender billed greenbul, tree species, butterflies, and small mammals among others.
Upon finding the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to take photos, record videos, learn more about their habits, behaviours, lifestyles, watch them. After chimpanzees tracking, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Morning Game drive and return to Kampala
You’ll get up early and leave at 6.30 a.m. for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau, where you’ll see Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and waterbucks. Oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, and bush pig may also be seen, as well as large carnivores such as lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas.
Olive baboons are among the park’s six species of primates you will spot. Crocodiles and hippos can be seen along the Nile’s banks. The goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork, and the rare shoebill stork are among the more common birds to be seen.
You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before checking out foryour return journey. Along the way, you’ll still see various wildlife species, and a variety of birds, including the unusual shoebill stork. There will still be stops for photographs of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls Park. Upon arrival in Entebbe, or Kampala, accommodation options include the Anderita Beach Hotel, the Papyrus Guesthouse Entebbe, and the Gately Inn Entebbe.
Day 5: Departure
Depending on your flight time, we may take you to the crafts village to purchase souvenirs before returning you to the airport in time for your return flight. This will mark the end of your The 5 Days Murchison Falls.
