Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri
On the first day of your two-day Rwanda Cultural Safari, our safari guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or any location in Kigali City and provide you with a briefing on Kigali City.
Following your briefing, you will be taken on a tour of the Kimironko Market, Rwanda’s largest market. On a tour to Kimironko Market, you will see a variety of interesting features, such as how Rwandans conduct their businesses, and you will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of souvenirs.
Following your tour of Kimironko Market, you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial museum, where you will learn more about the Rwanda genocide by visiting the museum’s display areas, such as the children’s exhibition area, which will give you an in-depth look at what happened during the genocide and the various events of the Rwanda genocide.
After that, have lunch and you will be transferred to Rwanda’s twin lakes, Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo. During your visit to the Twin Lakes, you will see a variety of water birds, including the African kingfisher and great cormorants, among others. You will then be transferred to Musanze, where you will check into your hotel for some leisure time, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ibyi’ wacu cultural village tour
After your early morning breakfast on the second day of your 2 days Rwanda Cultural Safari, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to Ibyiwacu Cultural Centre, where you will visit the cultural village for a memorable Rwanda Cultural tour.
The Ibyiwacu Cultural Village is located within the great Volcanoes National Park, which is well-known for gorilla trekking in Rwanda and is also home to the endangered golden monkey species, which can be seen during golden monkey trekking, and where tourists can have amazing adventures during their Rwanda Cultural tours.
While visiting the Ibyiwacu cultural village, you will learn about Rwandan culture, such as how they prepare local dishes like Ibiryo, which is a mixture of potatoes and goat’s meat, and you will be entertained by cultural dances where you will have an amazing time during your Rwanda Cultural tours.
After your cultural tour, you will be transferred to Kigali city for lunch, and if you have a few extra hours before your flight, you will participate in a Kigali city tour before being dropped off at Kigali International Airport or a location of your choice.
