Options of Hotels Lodges in Rwanda
“Luxury” – Luxury accommodations are fully equipped, comfortable and usually more spacious than the mid-range options. They often have facilities like swimming pools and services like massage.
“Semi-luxe” – Lodges and hotels in this category are more comfortable than the mid-range. They are normally in beautiful locations and often have a swimming pool, as well.
“Mid-range” – This is your best option for comfortable, self-contained (‘en suite’) accommodation set in stunning locations that don’t cost a fortune
“Budget” – Accommodation such as simple guesthouses or dormitory rooms are available in many cities in Rwanda. Service and amenity standards won’t be high and you are likely to share facilities like bathrooms with other guests, but choosing this standard will greatly reduce the price of your safari.

Hotel des Mille Collines (semi-luxury)
Known from the tragic film ‘Hotel Rwanda’ as the UN headquarters during the 1994 crisis in the country. Today it is a charming accommodation with the refurbished structure of the old building still visible. The swimming pool and the live music in the afternoon make it a wonderful place to just unwind before or after the flight.
Flame Tree Village (mid-range)
Flame Tree Village is located in the quiet suburb of Nyarutarama in Kigali.It boasts a total of 20 spacious villas that are not only comfortable, but provide a tranquil, homely experience. We provide free Wi-fi internet connection as well as a well-stocked pool bar. The residence has a pool as well as an in-door restaurant and an out-door sitting area.
The residence is located within easy access of major facilities and amenities such as the Kigali International Airport which is less than 10 minutes drive and the Kigali Central Business District also a mere 10 minute drive. Within the area are also major shopping centers such as MTN Center Nyarutarama and the Nyarutarama Golf Club.
Heaven Boutique Hotel (mid-range)
Heaven Boutique Hotel is 4 Star hotel with rooms located on 3 separate properties along the same road. Heaven Boutique Hotel rooms all have similar amenities (TV, mini fridge, coffee/tea/purified water, free Wi-Fi, Air Conditioning in all rooms except the Villa Queen Economy Room) and all rooms are located on KN 29 Street, the same street as Heaven Restaurant.
Kigali Serena Hotel (luxury)

Virunga Lodge (luxury)
The lodge is perched high on a ridge with the finest views in Africa, overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes and the Musanze valley to the west and Lake Bulera and Ruhondo to the east. The iconic property has defined Rwandese Afro-chic since the lodge was built by Praveen Moman in 2004. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
This semi-luxury lodge is located in Kinigi in northern Rwanda and on the edge of the Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas.The lodge is located on the foothills of the Mount Karisimbi, one of the volcanic mountains that make up the Virunga Massif. The lodge is about 10 minutes’ drive to the main entrance of the Volcanoes National Park where gorilla trekking starts.Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is an ecolodge with 30 spacious chalets. To ensure the least disruption of the surrounding environment, the ecolodge was constructed with locally available material. Every chalet comes with a sitting area with a fireplace and has a tea/coffee making machine. The ecolodge supports the surrounding rural community by purchasing farm-fresh produce that is served in the lodge’s restaurant.
Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (mid-range)
Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge as a safari lodge comprises of 23 self-contained private cottages with an individual fireplace. the rooms were built and properly designed to offer you comfort. The property was constructed all from environmentally friendly items as well as local materials such as bamboo. The attractiveness of this property is seen by its comfort, price, convenience as well as location. We work closely with the local community to ensure there are job opportunities around the lodge. A local cultural dancing troupe entertains guests to showcase Rwanda’s lifestyle and culture to the visiting guests, thus promoting sustainable tourism; through cultural exchange, local community interactions and experiencing real Rwandan cultural welfare.
Hotel Muhabura (budget)
The hotel has three room categories which include the double, there are the twin and the single rooms . All the rooms are self contained with hot showers running 24/7. All rooms are comfortable with private balcony to unwind after a crazy day. The attached balcony provides a very beautiful panoramic view of the volcanic mountain chain thus the reason tourists love this spot. Muhabura hotel has a room which was used by Dian fossey after she left her gorilla camp. After her death the management decided to leave the room just as she had left it in her memory.

Located adjacent to the park office where you can book excursions in Nyungwe Forest, this simple guesthouse has shared toilet facilities. In the evening, meals are prepared onsite which provides a very cozy and friendly dining environment.
