The 10 days Kibale Queen and Rwenzori hike will start in Kampala before driving to western Uganda for a tour in Kibale national park also known as the primate capital of the world for chimpanzee trekking and bigodi tour and also visiting Queen Elizabeth national park for game drives and the Kazinga channel boat cruise and also taking part in a hike on Mount Rwenzori. The safari will end in Kampala.
You will be picked up from Entebbe international airport on arrival and your guide will drive you to the hotel in Entebbe for check in.
After having breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe, you will be driven to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal town and enjoy views of the countryside and plantations on the way to the lodge where you will spend the night.
You will have a briefing at the Kanyanchu park headquarters and after briefing, you will search for the chimpanzees in Kibale forest with ranger guides. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees in Kibale forest and return to the park headquarters to receive your certificates for completing the chimpanzee trek and continue to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will engage in the bigodi experience which is a community-based activity which involves a guided nature walk to the Bigodi wetlands and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge in Kibale national park and after check out your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have lunch. You will also take part in a game drive in the national park and have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
You will wake up early for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park to search for wildlife species such as elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, impalas, waterbucks and many others. After the morning game drive, you will have lunch and in the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the Kazinga channel and enjoy seeing hippos, Nile crocodiles, buffalos, elephants and a variety of bird species by the water shores. Your guide will drive you back to the lodge after the activities for dinner and overnight stay.
After waking up early at the lodge, you will start the drive to Nyakalengija where you will begin the Rwenzori hike. You will hike for about 6 to 7 hours through farmland and hike on a steep ridge to Nyabitaba hut.
You will start the hike from Nyabitaba camp to John Matte camp on this day for about 7 to 8 hours. You will hike through forest to the Kurt Shafer Bridge and also slippery moss-covered rocks and into the zone of giant heather, lobelia and groundsel. From this point you will be able to view Mount Stanley and Mount Speke. Your night will be spent at John Matte camp.
On this day you will hike for about 4 to 5 hours from John Matte camp and follow the Bujuku trail, pass the lower bigo bog, giant lobelias, tussocks, view the Bujuku lake and also Mount Stanley and Mount Baker. The night will be spent at John Matte camp.
You will start the descend on this day from John Matte camp to Nyabitaba camp where you will have lunch and this hike takes about 5 to 6 hours. After lunch, you will continue the descend to Nyakalengija and your guide will pick you up and you will be driven to Kasese where you will spend the night.
After breakfast at the hotel in Kasese, you will start the journey back to Kampala or your guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport which will bring the 10 days Kibale Queen and Rwenzori hike tour to an end.
