10 days Uganda Safari Overview

Uganda is known for its friendly people and incredible diversity of landscapes and activities. On this 10 days Uganda Safari, let us show you the best that Uganda has to offer from boat rides to the mighty Murchison Falls and walking safari in Lake Mburo, to intimate meetings with the chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and mountain gorilla encounters along the canopy covered trails of Bwindi Forest.

10 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe Mabamba Swamp Tour

  • Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or Airport in Entebbe and transfer you to Nakiwogo landing site for a local boat transfer to Mabamba swamp.
  • Most of the time will be spent in a motorised canoe within the swamp/bay area, where an experienced boat crew will guide you through the numerous inlets, helping you identify the bird species within the swamp.
  • Accommodation: Hotel No 5 (Breakfast & dinner)

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls and Rhino trekking

  • Pick-up at your hotel
  • The journey shall begin with rhino trekking and transfer to one of the oldest conservation areas in the country: Murchison Falls National Park
  • The drive to Northern Uganda is quiet long (around 6 hours) but rewarding, with ever- changing landscapes, busy roadside markets and quiet rural villages.
  • Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s best-known and biggest nature reserve. Its most memorable feature is the Victoria Nile which cuts through the park, running along a series of rapids before shooting out of a narrow crack in an incredibly powerful waterfall.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Boat Tour

  • Private game drive; tailored towards specific birdlife and/or wildlife interests
  • Murchison Falls National Park is especially known for its massive elephant population, wide array of bird species and big herds of buffalo. Giraffes, lions, antelope and waterbucks can also be spotted here and if you search the trees carefully, you may even spot one of the elusive leopards.
  • The afternoon boat safari towards Murchison Falls is a special highlight of the day. Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

  • Your journey to Kibale Forest will be your longest drive on this tour (around 7 hours), but possibly the most scenic. The drive will take you through tea plantations, lively village markets and over rolling hills of lush green countryside that is so characteristic of western

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Community Tour

  • No other animal reminds us so much of ourselves as the Besides many common features and mannerisms, chimpanzees also share 98% of our human DNA, making them our closest living relatives. Experience in Kibale Forest you will have the opportunity to follow an experienced guide into the forest to observe these fascinating creatures at a close range. Watching them interact with each other and go about their daily routine of grooming, playing and foraging is an incredible experience.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Forest

  • Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park : another exciting and scenic drive to some of the oldest forests on the African continent. The drive to Bwindi will show you the Ugandan countryside and villages with beautiful rolling hills that most people refer to as the switzerland of Africa.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest & Lake Bunyonyi

  • Today is the big day: trekking the gentle giants! Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a highlight for many visitors as this is where they will be visiting the home of the gentle
  • The park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. The time to complete the gorilla trekking can be as little as 2 hours to as much as 7 hours! Your gorilla encounter will be an exciting (for some also challenging) journey along forested (sometimes slippery) slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gentle giants.
  • After gorilla trekking, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, which is undeniably the loveliest lake in Bunyonyi (literrally “place of many little birds”) contains 29 islands, many of which are inhabited and terraced for agriculture.
