10 Days Uganda South Sudan Tour itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Moroto

After breakfast you will transfer to North East Uganda, off the beaten track the adventure begins in Karamoja. You will spend the night in a nice camp near the village of Moroto at the foot of Mount Moroto. Several tribes live in this area, including the Ikk, Tepeth and Karamajong. The special Karamojong culture takes place in Northeastern Uganda near Mount Moroto in the middle of Karamoja. The inhabitants of this vast and completely undiscovered area are the Karamojong, a tribe related to the Maasai in Kenya and Tanzania.

Day 2: Karamajong Tribal experience

In the morning, accompanied by a local guide, you will visit the traditional Bokoro Manyatta. The moment you arrive, life awakens in the Manyatta and the population is already busy milking the animals, grinding sorgum, shaking yogurt, brewing local beers and building huts. Here and there you are invited to ancient local games and try to wear wood and kalabash on your head. What exactly you will find in the manyatta cannot be indicated in advance, since you do not follow a standardized program, but rather experience what is happening in the village at that moment. In this way we experience the special Karamojong culture in a casual and authentic way!

Day 3: Drive to Kidepo Valley N.P

The Kidepo Valley National Park is the most remote Ugandan game park in the far northeast of the country, bordering South Sudan and Northwest Kenya. Rolling savannah interrupted by rocks (‘kopjes’) and in the distance perpendicular granite mountains give the park the most beautiful panoramas of Uganda. Add to that the very small number of tourists and you arrive at an absolute gem that is ready to be discovered!
