11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Safari Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi transfer to Amboseli National Park

At the start of this 11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Safari, you will be met and greeted by one of our best safari guide representatives at Nairobi’s International Airport upon arrival and receive a briefing about your 11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Safari to get a clear picture of what to expect. After the briefing, depart for Amboseli, which is famous for its massive elephant herds at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Check in the hotel, relax and have lunch. After lunch, go on an exciting afternoon game drive until the evening.

Day 2: Full day in Amboseli National Park

11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania SafariSpend an entire day in this beautiful reserve viewing wildlife, birds, and enjoying the natural ecosystem that exists within this park while viewing and photographing the scenic landscape that defines this park. Cultural tours of Maasai villages can also be arranged at an additional cost. Overnight stay and meals at your previous lodge.

Day 3: Transfer from Amboseli to Ngorongoro Crater

On this day of your 11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Safari, depart for the Namanga border with picnic lunch boxes. Clear customs and immigration, then meet your driver from Tanzania and travel to the famous Ngorongoro crater for lunch via Arusha. Ngorongoro is very special because of its physical protection from man and natural beauty, which places it among the most pristine wilderness on the planet. It has also been designated as a World Heritage Site and is the world’s largest intact crater.

Arrive at your reserved residence, probably Crater Rim lodge, where you will check in and have a late lunch. After lunch, you will have the rest of the day free to explore the lodge’s facilities and go on walking safaris around the surrounding areas.

Day 4: Full Day in Ngorongoro Crater

11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania SafariMove out of the lodge early in the morning with a packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game and the big five. Spend the day inside the crater and have lunch at one of the park’s popular picnic spots. In the evening, you will return to the lodge, which is strategically perched on the rim of the collapsed volcano and offers spectacular views of the crater floor. Head back to the lodge later for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro - Serengeti National Park

Check out of the lodge early in the morning with a packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game and the big five. Spend half of the day inside the crater and have lunch at one of the park’s popular picnic spots. Later, embark on the drive to Serengeti National Park where you will be arriving in the evening, you will check in the lodge in the park, which is strategically perched on the rim of the collapsed volcano and offers spectacular views of the crater floor.

Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

11 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania SafariSpend the day on game drives through the Great Serengeti. Africa’s Big Five live in the Serengeti. You will have your packed or picnic lunch and continue to explore the great park. Later, drive back to the lodge in the evening for an evening at leisure and a hot dinner.

Day 7: Serengeti - Masai Mara National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge with a packed picnic lunch and game drives en route to Masai Mara via the Isibania border as you enter into Kenya again. You will go through immigration procedures at the border before heading to the Maasai Mara. You’ll arrive at your Mara Reserve lodge in time for a late lunch before departing for an afternoon game drive. This allows you to see the big five as well as other plains game. Following the game drive, you will be returned to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Full Day in Masai Mara National Park

Spend a full day at leisure in the vast and beautiful Mara reserve, searching for the big five and enjoying game drives, with all meals served at the lodge. Optional activities include tours of Maasai villages, walking safaris, and hot air balloon rides. Dinner and overnight at the previous lodge in the park.

Day 9: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru National Park

After a hearty breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru, passing through Naivasha on the way to Lake Nakuru National Park. Nakuru is an alkaline Rift Valley lake and a fantastic bird sanctuary, with its shores teeming with more than a million flamingos at times. It was dubbed “the greatest bird spectacle on Earth” by renowned ornithologist Roger Tory Peterson. Lunch and an evening game drive in the park are included.

Day 10: Lake Nakuru transfer to Nairobi

Enjoy your last game drive in Lake Nakuru. This drive will enable you to see varoius wildlife and not forgetting the amazing number of flamingo birds that take refuge on the lake waters. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast. After breakfast, you will depart from the park and return to Nairobi.  Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for lunch and relaxation.

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast, checkout and be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your outbound flight to your next destination.
