6 Days Kidepo National Park safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to hotel for Overnight Stay
This is the day you will step foot in the country – Uganda, commonly referred to as the pearl of Africa. Be welcomed by our tour guide at the airport Entebbe as they usher you in and brief you as they too transfer you to your lodge or hotel for relaxation and night stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Kitgum
The second day of your 6 day Kidepo National Park safari is primarily dedicated to driving making it a road trip adventure. Wake up to an early breakfast at your hotel, then the driver guide will you drive north through towns such as Luweero, where you will be able to see the Luwero triangle and learn about its history, Kamudini, and Gulu. You’ll stop for lunch along the way, then continue on to Kitgum town for dinner and rest before entering Kidepo Valley nthe next day.
Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park - Game Drive
On this day, you will make your final drive to the park. After breakfast, drive to Kidepo National Park, where you will go on a game drive in Narus valley in hopes of seeing herds of buffalo, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and cheetahs. You will enjoy a slow drive and will be able to capture picture moments while on your game drive, and you will be able to stop whenever you want. Continue to check in to your pre booked lodge for lunch, relax and spend the evening admiring the wilderness.
Day 4: Kidepo Valley Game Drive
On the fourth day of our 6-day Kidepo National Park tour, we will go on a game drive and a cultural walk. You will enjoy breakfast while admiring the true wilderness and having an out-of-this-world experience! After breakfast, you will embark on another exciting game drive through open savannah, rocky outcrops, forests, and mountain rings. Drive up to Kanangorok Hot Springs and prepare for photo opportunities and the possibility of seeing more wildlife, particularly lions sitting on the rocks scanning the park for potential prey. Return to the lodge to unwind and eat lunch.
In the afternoon, take a cultural tour of the Karamojong people for an unforgettable experience. The Karamojong culture is still pure and distinct from most other tribes in Uganda; they have rejected civilization and continue to live as they did in the past. The Karamojong are primarily pastoralists who fight for their cattle because they believe that all cattle in the world belong to them. They are a fascinating group of people with a distinct culture that can be seen in their dress, cooking, dancing, and other daily activities. A visit to the Karamojong is a truly rewarding experience that you should not miss. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Gulu after a game drive.
Wake up to an early morning breakfast as you prepare to check out of your lodge. After breakfast, continue to check out of the lodge and go on your final game drive in this true wilderness. Every day brings a new sight that will help you increase your game count. Transfer to Gulu, where you will have lunch and relax for the rest of the day. Churchill Hotel Gulu dinner and overnight stay would be a great option.
Day 6: Departure back to Kampala
On the final day of your 6 Days Kidepo National Park Safari, you will have breakfast early and travel to Kampala, stopping for lunch en route. You will then transfer to Entebbe airport for your onward flight or be dropped off at your own booked hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala. This will mark the end of your 6 Days Kidepo National Park safari.
