Safari Overview
This 6 days Rwenzori hike will start in Kampala and you will be driven to Kasese before starting the hike on Mount Rwenzori following the bujuku trail for four days and returning to Kampala after the hike.
6 days Rwenzori Hike Itinerary
Day 1; pick up and drive to Kasese
You will be picked up on the first day of the tour from Kampala or Entebbe and after a short briefing, your guide will drive you to Kasese where you will spend the night ahead of your 6 days Rwenzori Hike
Day 2; transfer to Rwenzori park and hike to Nyabitaba camp
After breakfast at the hotel in Kasese, you will proceed to Rwenzori mountains national park to start the hike from Nyakalengija camp to Nyabitaba camp which takes about 6 to 7 hours. The night will be spent at Nyabitaba camp where you will also have dinner.
Day 3; Nyabitaba camp to John Matte camp
You will start the hike from Nyabitaba camp to John Matte camp on this day and it will take about 7 to 8 hours. During the hike to John Matte camp, you will also enjoy views of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke and the night will be spent at John Matte camp.
Day 4; John Matte camp to Bujuku campand return to John Matte camp
After having breakfast at John Matte camp, you will hike to Bujuku camp for about 4 to 5 hours and enjoy views of Lake Bujuku and also see Mount Stanley and Mount Baker. You will return to John Matte after the day hike and spend the night at the camp.
Day 5; John Matte camp to Nyakalengija camp and transfer to Kasese
The hike will start from John Matte camp after breakfast and you will descend to Nyakalengija camp where you will meet with your guide and proceed to drive to Kasese where you will spend the night.
Day 6; drive to Kampala
Your guide will drive you back to Kampala after breakfast and checking out of the hotel in Kasese which will bring the 6 days Rwenzori Hike to an end.
