This 11 day best of Uganda safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, Lake Bunyonyi National Park, and Lake Mburo National Park, all of which are home to numerous species of wildlife. These destinations in Uganda, Africa’s pearl, have endangered animal species and wildlife in general. This safari begins in Kampala, continues to the western part of the country, and concludes with a transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe airport for departure.

11 Days Best of Uganda safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be nicely and warmly welcomed into the pearl of Africa by our company tour guide who will meet, brief you and smoothly transport you to your place of stay around Kampala the capital as you await your 11 days best of Uganda Safari adventure.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Since you have had your first arrival date for relaxing, now the adventure will begin with an early morning breakfast. It will be followed by a transfer to Kibale national park in a 4×4 safari vehicle. On the way to Kibale, the tour guide will again brief you on what to expect in the park and will stop for a lunch break and relaxation a nice restaurant en-route. This park is home to numerous primate species as well as other wildlife, and the journey by road will take 6 to 7 hours. When you arrive in Kibale, you will be taken to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay
Day 3: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
After breakfast in the lodge, our tour guide will pick you up and transport you to the park headquarters for a full day adventure with the chimps. You will meet with the park ranger for a briefing on what you will be doing with the wildings in the forest. In addition to chimps, the forest is home to Grey-Checked Monkeys, White and Black Colobus Monkeys, Baboons, L’Hoest monkeys, and over 300 bird species. As soon as you find the chimps, you can interact with them and take pictures with them.
This experience usually takes 3 to 7 hours per day, and once you find the chimps, you can spend 3 to 4 hours with them. After the chimpanzee habituation experience, you will be taken to lunch and then to your lodge for the remainder of the evening. Dinner and a late-night stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast at the lodge where you stayed overnight, our tour guide will pick you up for the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way to the park, you will stop at Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves to learn about their amazing myths and where they derive their name from. You will then be taken to a pleasant restaurant for lunch. Following the meal, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth Park for check in at the early booked lodge. The rest of the evening will be spent on a game drive in Kansenyi Plains, one of the park’s best sectors. Following the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a late-night stay.
Day 5: Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day of your 11 days best of Uganda Safari, Breakfast will be served at the lodge early in the morning, followed by another game drive on other plains of the park where you will see plenty of wild animals such as Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Lions, and many others. Expect to see over 400 bird species on this game drive, including herons, cattle egrets, malachite kingfishers, and many others.
Following the game drive, you will be taken for lunch before embarking on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This body of water connects to Lake Edward and Lake George, where you can enjoy watching birds from the shore and in the air. Along the banks of the Kazinga Channel, you will also see many wild animals such as hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes. This will take over 3 hours, after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 6 Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Following the all amazing day 5 of the 11 days best of Uganda Safari, you will be woken up on this sixth day with an early morning breakfast which will be served at your lodge. You will then check out and head out for a birding experience that will last about 2 to 3 hours and will allow us to see a variety of birds on the park grounds. Following the bird watching, you will be taken for lunch before being transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to check into your lodge. Rest assured that dinner will be served later. You will spend the rest of the night at the lodge.
Day 7 Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked up by our tour guide and transferred to park headquarters for a briefing by the senior ranger. The gorilla trekking experience will begin as soon as you enter the jungle and will last between 3 and 7 hours per session. Trekking with mountain gorilla families usually entails some hiking through the forests guided by a professional ranger who is familiar with the gorillas’ movements. Once you’ve located the mountain gorilla family, you’ll have time to spend with them while enjoying the company of the gorillas and taking photos of them without a flashlight, as well as selfies.
Following your time with the gorillas, you will be given a lunch break to eat your lunch while resting in the Bwindi forest, which means that everyone going on a trekking experience is required to bring a lunch box from the lodge. Following the gorilla trekking experience, you will be taken to the lodge for checkout before being transferred to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 8: Full day in Lake Bunyonyi
Breakfast will be served at the lodge before departing for Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe ride to explore the lake’s islands, plus a nature walk with a tour guide. Later after a nice lunch, you have the option of zip lining or bungee jumping before returning to the lodge for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Breakfast will be served at the lodge, followed by a transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, the country’s smallest savanna park located near Kampala, the country’s capital city. On your way to the park, you will stop for lunch at before continuing on your journey. Arrive at the lodge, check in for dinner, and overnight stay
Day 10: Full day in Lake Mburo
Breakfast will be served in the lodge early in the morning, followed by a transfer to the park for a game drive through the park’s savannah plains. You will see many different animal species on this game drive, including antelopes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, and topis.
You will also see the park’s lakes, preparing for a boat cruise later after the game drive. After the game drive, you will be taken for lunch before embarking on a boat cruise that will last 3-4 hours and will allow you to see animals such as Hippos, Crocodiles, Elands, Zebras, and a few birds such as fish eagles, shoe bills, and others. Return to your lodging later.
Day 11: Return to Kampala in preparation for departure.
On the final day of this 11 days best of Uganda Safari, breakfast will be served at the lodge early in the morning, followed by another game drive in the park to see more wildlife as they graze on the park’s savannah grassland. After that, you will be returned to the lodge for checkout before being transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe international airport for your flight home. You will have a stopover for lunch and some relaxation on your way back to Kampala. Later, continue to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your flight home. This will mark the end of your 11 days best of Uganda Safari.
