10 Days Best Rwanda Safari Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali City Tour
Kigali City Tour; Upon your arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our professional safari driver guide whom you will meet at the Airport welcome you, and process your visa after the driver guide will take you through a short briefing of about your 10 Days Best Rwanda Safari. After then drive you to the beautiful city of Rwanda –Kigali where you will be able to explore what makes Rwanda a luxurious African country.
Depending on your arrival time, take a drive to the Kigali city tour, visit the genocide memorial site and art, visit the craft Centre or relax at your hotel. Arrive and check at the lodge as you get ready for the next day’s activity. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On this day of your 10 Days Best Rwanda Safari, you will venture into the wilderness. After waking up in the beautiful city of Kigali, have your breakfast and your private driver will be waiting to take you through Rwanda’s most beautiful countryside dotted with a stunning range of hills and nature. From Kigali to Ngungwe it can take a 5-hour lazy drive inclusive of stopovers at local markets, the traditional palace in Nyanza, take another stop to Butare, visit the Botanical Gardens and if time allows also visit the cultural museum. Proceed to drive through beautiful green fields of tea scatted across the hillsides and the small unique wooden houses that surround Nyungwe Forest which you can visit before you arrive at the lodge.
You will check in at the lodge late in the evening, rest as you make yourself comfortable in the new environment as you enjoy nature’s ambiance around the lodge, and meet new people. Have dinner and overstay the night.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk
After morning breakfast with tasty snacks, your driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarter for the chimpanzee tracking briefing. Then after you will be led by a park ranger and a guide into the Nyungwe forest trails to track these great apes said to share 98% DNA with human genes. You start searching for them in their nature inhabitant and always feel free to ask whatever question you want to know about the forest, species, and activity. This activity can take about 30 to 5 hours depending on what hour you have allocated them.
The moment you locate them one hour is given to you to watch them as they play, feed, groom their younger ones. In the afternoon , You will take an exciting aerial view of Nyungwe forest through a fabulous canopy walkway that raises around 160 meters high. However, the canopy walk in Nyungwe forest is one of the most done activities inside the park and it ranks as one of the world’s best forest canopy
Day 4: Nature walk –Nyungwe Forest
You will go for the amazing an amazing hiking along beautiful and maintained trails over the lush, green valleys of this equatorial rainforest, where you will simply get amazed by the beauty of Nyungwe Forest National Park renowned as Rwanda’s adventurous area with the biodiversity of wildlife species with no fewer than 1000 plant species, 13 primates species, over 75 African mammals and more than 275 bird species, 32 amphibians and 38 reptile species among others. Nyungwe covers an area of about 1,019 square kilometers and is under the protection of the Rwanda Development Board
Day 5: Transfer to Kibuye Resort Town
Drive to Kibuye and along the way expect to encounter the spectacular views of Lake Kivu up to Gisenyi as you go through the exciting countryside with rolling hills and valleys dotted with green terraced gardens.
Kibuye is a wonderful town along Lake Kivu for relaxation on the shores of Lake Kivu. You can choose to enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu different beautiful islands. Lake Kivu water is free from bilharzia; you can go for a swim if you wish

Day 6 : Gisenyi
Gisenyi historically known as one of the 12 provinces in Rwanda it’s a beautiful medium-sized town on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo that boasts a special charm that lures a mix of Rwandans and ex-pats to its various beaches. Above all, Lake Kivu’s frontage is set with landscapes villas, luxurious hotels for your comfortable stay as well as private clubs set in plenty of tropical foliage.

While taking part in gorilla trekking activity remember to carry comfortable shoes, warm clothes, rain jackets, waterproof bags, and a walking stick as a must. Note, Time taken for the gorilla trekking experience is unpredictable and might vary from 30 to 7 hours before an encounter with the gorilla family you assigned and the location of each gorilla family group depends on their movement, temperature, feeding range, and many more. More of the important guidelines will be issued at the briefing time and always make sure you remember the most important ones.
Once you allocate the gorilla family, you will be allowed an hour in the company of each gorilla family with a memorable experience as they go play, spend their day long in the forest, feeding each other, eating foliage as well as taking photographs for future remembrance among others. Day 9: Optional Activities –Volcanoes National Park

Day 10: Kigali City –Depart to Kigali Airport
