Samburu National Reserve is indeed best known as the area where Elsa the Lioness was raised by conservationists, as documented mostly in award-winning book and film Born Free. Samburu National Park is located in northern Kenya, where flat vegetation gives way to desert scrubland, kopjes, and enormous rocky outcrops, all centred on the meandering Ewaso Ngiro River. Far from being monotonous, this amazing landscape supports species that are uniquely suited to the drier, rockier surroundings.
It is called after the Samburu people, nomadic pastoralists who wear some of the world’s finest and delicate traditional finery. The Samburu people survive in manyattas (village-like structures) which can be moved around in search of new pasture for their donkeys, goats, and cattle. Camels were brought in by trading Arabians, and these desert mammals flourish in this semi-arid habitat. This is one of the few areas in Africa where you may go on a camel trek in search of wildlife, escorted by your experienced and knowledgeable Samburu guides.

Top Uganda Wildlife safari Destinations
Bwindi Forest National Park
The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a popular Uganda safari destination, is situated in southwestern Uganda and is known for its dense vegetation. Every day, ranger guides must cut vegetation to allow trackers access to where gorillas nested the night before when tourists go on the famous gorilla trekking adventure. It’s a true African jungle, with sundrops falling through the dense forest cover, giving you the feeling of being in paradise, with no pollution from the various emissions that plague our daily lives. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 due to its rich diversity of flora and fauna, as well as the fact that it is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The park is 321 km2 in size and is entirely forested, with some areas covered in bamboo and shrubs. The forest is located in a series of steep, slick valleys with ridges and hilltops.
Because of the dense canopy, the weather in Bwindi is chilly, so bring some warm clothing for the evenings and long-sleeved shirts/trousers for trekking. Anyone interested seeing gorillas in the wild or searching for birds, butterflies, or shrubs must be in good physical condition in order to go up and down the terrain on this uganda safari. It is located between 1160m and 2607m above sea level.
The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is divided into different trail heads, each of which offers gorilla trekking tours. The gorillas that have been tamed for tourism are divided into families that are stationed at various trailheads. If you decide to visit Bwindi, make sure you know which trailhead you will be assigned to before booking your hotel. After you’ve determined your trailhead, you can book a hotel in the area. Murchison Falls National Park Wildlife Safari
Murchison Falls National Park is a hidden natural wonder in Uganda, its a place that you must see if you come for any African wildlife safari adventure. The Falls some of Uganda’s most popular tourist destinations, but also of the all African continent. They were named by Sir Samuel Baker during his 19th-century explorations of Uganda and Africa. Murchison Falls National Park, is also Uganda’s largest Conservation area park and home to nearly all of Africa’s top mammals. It has some of Africa’s largest populations of Nubian Giraffes and is a Lion conservation area. The parks contain savannah grasslands as well as large forests, such as Budongo.
There’s alot to keep you busy during your visit to Murchison National Park, but a guided safari is for sure the most popular activity. Elephants, buffaloes, hippos, chimps, and crocodiles are all part of the Murchison wildlife. White Rhinos can also be seen at the nearby Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in the wild.
The Waterfalls
When you see the extreme Murchison water Falls, you’ll understand why the park’s 1,500 square miles are named after the roaring falls. The water comes from the Victoria Nile River, but trust that it’s not the same as the waterfalls you’re used to see anywhere else. The water falls through a 6-meter-long gorge rock in the ground, forcing onwards before plunging down a massive drop.
Kibale Forest National Park Wildlife Safari
Kibale Forest National Park is situtated in west Uganda, close to Fort Portal town just few kms East of the Rwenzori Mountains. The park’s 766 square kilometers area is mostly covered by lush rain forest, with elevations about from 1100 to 1600 meters. Kibale Forest National Park has a stretch that connects the forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park, is one of the last remaining places to contain both swamp and montane forests.

Wetland Sanctuary of Bigodi
About 200 bird species live here as well as butterflies and eight different species of monkeys, including the grey-cheeked mangabey, live in this swamp 6 kilometers next to the Forest. A 2 or 3 hour swamp walks will take you through swamps, small communities, and some beautiful scenery, with the locals waving at you with smiles. Queen Elizabeth National Park Wildlife Safari in Africa- Uganda
Queen Elizabeth National Park is arguably the most visited and definitely the most scenic game park in the country.
