14-Days Gorillas and Rafting Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Uganda and Transfer to Jinja

On your arrival, you will meet your Laba Africa Expeditions guide at Entebbe International Airport for your 14-Days Gorillas and Rafting safari. They will drive you to the colonial town of Jinja, on the shores of Lake Victoria, If time allows, you can also do a short Kampala city tour. Jinja is where a river, the White Nile, flows out of Lake Victoria and starts its long journey to the Mediterranean. If you have time and desire, you could go on a thrilling tubing tour on the Nile. Then, in the late afternoon, you cruise on the lake as the sun sets.

Day 2. To Sipi Falls and Coffee Tour

Today, we will travel east of Uganda to the Mount Elgon Sebei region. Bugisu arabica coffee is popularly grown in this region. A coffee tour is a fun way to learn about the most popular drink in the world. The guide tells you how people in the area grow coffee, process it, and roast it over an open fire. And the money made from your tour goes to community projects.

Day 3. Hike in Sipi Falls

After breakfast this morning, you’ll go to Sipi Falls, which is on the edge of Mountain Elgon National Park also close to the Kenya and home of some of the highest mountains in Uganda. The falls are made up of three drops, with the 100 m drop being the longest and the most well-known. A lovely trail leads to a stunning cave for those who want more adventure. Are you an adrenaline junkie? How about adding a waterfall abseiling experience?

Day 4. To Murchison Falls National Park

On this day of your 14-Days Gorillas and Rafting, you will drive west to reach Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s most beautiful and famous parks. Once you have arrived at the park, you can take time to settle in, deep in the pool and have lunch here. After you can choose to go for an evening game drive in the park. Some animals to look for include lions, elephants, buffaloes, Ugandan kobs, giraffes, and Nile crocodiles and abundance of bird life and tree species

Day 5. Game Drive and Boat Safari

You go on a game drive in the park early in the morning to look for animals that were hard to find last evening. Later in the day, you take a boat ride up the river to see the impressive Murchison Falls. This waterfall is on the part of the Victorian Nile that runs between Lakes Kyoga and Albert. It is also called Kabalega Falls. At this point, the river is squeezed between two rocks less than 10 meters apart. This explains why the waterfall is so strong.

Day 6. Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After Breakfast, you will to the beautiful Kibale Forest National Park. This park is known for being a destination for trekking Chimpanzees in Uganda  and different primates of Uganda. This lush forest is a must visit for primate lovers and birding enthusiasts. The journey today is long but very scenic and worthy it.

Day 7. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

Have breakfast and walk to the Park headquarters for briefing and trekking our beautiful cousins the chimpanzees. In the jungle, your knowledgeable guide will show you different primates, tree species etc. Once you find the chimps, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour seeing them doing their day-to-day life in the jungle. If you are interested in spending more time with them, Chimpanzee habituation is an option where visitors accompany researchers and vets in the jungle for all day to monitor the chimps.

Day 8. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you will be transferred to another beautiful national park known as Queen Elizabeth national Park. This is one of the most diverse national parks in Africa with A variety of large game eg lions Elephants buffaloes, hippocampus, antelope and many others.

Upon arrival, You will go for a boat cruise at Kazinga a natural channel which connects lake George and Lake Edward an important ecosystem is home to a variety of animals and bird life, You will see many birds eg should be a Shoebill stork, lapwings etc

Day 9. Morning Game drive and Afternoon game drive

Breakfasts during your 14-Days Gorillas and Rafting safari is served very early usually so that you can start your morning and drive as the sun come out! You can’t miss this sunrise. Sunrise is the best time for spotting animals Since they tend to be very active during this golden hour.

If you’re lucky you might see lions, leopards and others today. As the settles in the savanna grasslands, it becomes hot, And the animals will go to the Kazinga channel for a drink. If you wish you can also come back for another afternoon boat trip a lot the natural channel. In fact, to many visitors, this boat tour is one of their highlights during their stay here.

Day 10. Transfer to Bwindi Forest Via Ishasha

Today your journey Through Uganda will continue towards south west with a stop over in ishasha sector to try to see the tree climbing lions Before continuing to one of Africa’s oldest forests. The drive will show you beautiful countrysides , Village markets, rolling hills and that’s why some people referred to this region as the Switzerland of Africa

Day 11. Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Forest National Park

Meeting the rare and endangered mountain gorillas of Uganda is a lifetime experience. More than half of the world is remaining mountain gorillas live in Ugandas Bwindi and Mgahinga parks that are biologically diverse rainforests. Alongside an experienced ranger You will go in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas.

Your mountain gorilla trekking experience will be very exciting and at the same time a challenging journey muddy and slippery vegetation and bamboo forest before reaching the territory of these beautiful gentle giants.

Along the way your guide ranger will show you previous activity of gorillas like nests bamboo shoots and the others. Depending on the location of the Gorilla family you are trekking will be around 2 to 7 hours. Once you have found the gorillas you spend one hour with them to quietly Quietly observe them doing their day-to-day life

Day 12. Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi means a lake of many small birds. The lake has 29 islands Of which most are inhabitanted and terraced. Yeah you can take time to hike, swim in the bilharzia free lake or take a small boat to see the 29 islands.

Day 13. Transfer To Lake Mburo NP

Lake Mburo is a small national Park (on the route from Bwindi National Park back to Entebbe) but should certainly not be underestimated. This is the only place in southern Uganda to see zebras and the only park in the country with impalas, slender mongoose and giant bush rats. You can also look for hyenas, leopards, topis, elands and the beautiful Rothschild’s giraffes, not to mention the lake itself which is teeming with hippos and crocodiles!. It is possible to do a walking safari or horse riding here. Please inquire the cost of these safari activities

Day 14. To Entebbe Airport. End of The 14-Days Gorillas and Rafting

This is the last day of your 14-Days Gorillas and Rafting safari. After a late breakfast, depart Lake Mburo national park for Kampala. This is a short drive that will allow you to relax and enjoy amazing recollections of your 14-Days Gorillas and Rafting safari.
